Designing Women's Handbags

Very few women are indifferent about the way they look when they are going out. For the most part, ladies enjoy looking great and consider travelling with a good-looking handbag an absolute necessity. Whether country gals, island girls or uptown ladies, most of them have an idea of what the perfect handbag looks like and they soon hope to have it hanging from their arm.Some ladies love glitz, while others are driven to a plain canvas tote and yet still there are groups that absolutely adore anything painted. You know the fabulous purses that have been embellished with paint; the same kind you would use to paint on clothes.Of all the ladies in the world that have a unique sense of style and a good idea of what they would like to have as a handbag, most have never considered venturing into making their own purses. Yet still there are some that have given thought to it and are wondering what took them so long to jump in the creative pool of designing purses. Creating your own purse is quite rewarding and the satisfaction is even greater knowing that you designed it yourself. The joy increases even more when people begin to admire them and ask you to make one for them also.Though there are the few ladies that are uninterested in fashion, not all women are late bloomers or indifferent when it comes to dressing up; a great number just had it in them or developed the desire watching their mom's dress up for a special event. So the girly girls are usually the ones affected with the dress-up bug from early childhood. They're the ones for whom fashion is their passion. They would consider any new trend or application to embellish their handbag design even if it were to apply designs as you would when you paint on clothes.As children their moms encouraged them as they played with their beautiful dolls, dressing them as much as ten times daily preparing them for their make-believe day ahead. These young fashionista's learned early how to make the many new outfits for their dolls right down to the purse and for these creative little tykes, that was mostly without the aid of sewing machines.Later in life, many of the young ladies found themselves designing purses for their special occasions. Not everyone could afford to purchase a beautiful handbag to coordinate with their new outfit, so, it was all about creating fabulous fashion accessories for yourself, your sister and of course your best friend. So it's no big surprise that these folks have turned their hearts to designing women's handbags.Not new to the fashion scene are designing men. These men often have a distinct way of adding their unique skills and outlook to handbag design. It is interesting to see how they get creative and add a totally unique dimension to designing handbags. Many men have an enormous following of admirers for their distinctive collections.Although a large number of great handbag designers are not yet a household name that does not stop them from following their passion and pressing on to create fabulous purses. They know all too well that their passion is not inspired by the amount of money they can earn; although they readily welcome it; rather, these designers are consumed with a passion to create those beautiful designs that visit their imagination day and night.So why continue to design the purses if you are not world known and the bucks are not rolling in? Well, just because you may not be known around the world does not mean that you are not a success in your own right. After all the world is a big place and there are still a fair amount of ladies just waiting for you to craft that purse that has been dancing through your mind for the past several weeks. So what are you waiting for designers? Your market awaits you.

Six Organs of Admittance - The Sun Awakens - Music Review

Playing guitar is a singularly rewarding experience. I have been playing for about 25 years and still find myself surprised and intrigued. Guitar playing has opened up doors for me that would have remained closed otherwise. Due to its' universality and portability, it lends itself to interaction. Even when I've been as removed as possible from any common language or cultural bond the guitar has allowed me to make friends in Africa, Italy and Mexico. As with most guitarists, I started out with the standard tuning. Along the way I've found the possibilities and mystery available in deviating from this. Exploring alternate tunings such as open G and B increases ones musical palette and vocabulary. Not only can you discover the modal delights underpinning the Blues, you can transcend them. Combining these tunings with a slide can send you back to ancient Egypt or deep into rural Appalachia. A guitarist who has obviously dug deep into these modes is Ben Chasney. Chasney plays in various groups (Comets on Fire, Current 93, etc.) but his main vehicle is the always excellent Six Organs of Admittance. It is under this banner that he has released the best album of last year, "The School of the Flower" and the best thing I've heard so far this year, "The Sun Awakens" (Drag City).This album is simply a masterpiece. It seems to have dropped fully formed from the ether without needing further embellishment or being overdone. The melodies bubble forth with compelling strength. They have a round-edged sound that allows them to enter deep into you mind where they joyously unfold. Each of the pieces on this album are solid representations of tone mastery and melodic mystery. There are a few precedents. John Fahey and Leo Kottke come to mind first. But Ben Chasney never allows the technical aspects overpower the music or get in the way of the magic. There are vocals on a few of the tracks (supplied by Chasney. Om's Al Cisneros and Current 93's David Tibet) and they are used to great effect. The vocals call to mind chants or the plaintive wailing's of Jewish prayer or Medieval Troubadours. There is a longing and wistfulness I hear in this music. Despite any outside influence, this is American music. Specifically Californian music. I hear the Redwood forests near Santa Cruz and the long golden light of coastal San Simeon coming through. At times flashes of Ennio Moricone descend and in these echoes you can picture Clint Eastwood drawing his gun from underneath his poncho and fanning the hammer.The biggest shock of the set is the 25 minute, "River of Transfiguration". On this song Chasney drops all attempts to build his steeplechase architecture of guitar lines and lets the ambiance surge to the foreground. Some music overpowers you with its presence and force. This song is perhaps the opposite of that. There is space in this piece for the listener. This space allows one room to think and breathe. The mind id set free to either truly contemplate the various aspects of the music or simply to daydream. This is not to imply even a hint of laziness. There is an underlying desert of tension that never allows this music to fade into the background.Ben Chasney is to be commended for continuing to make compelling and complex music. His sense of melody and mastery of tone are a gift to us all. This is music not only to be taken in by the first five organs of admittance, but to be savored by the sixth, the mind.

The Dean Vendetta Series
With four models to choose from, the Vendettas have string-through-body design, classic Dean V Ferrule pattern, dual Humbuckers, a 25.5-inch scale, and solid mahogany bodies with a maple neck. The Vendetta 1.0 and 2.0 are bolt-on models with black hardware. The 2.0 model features a solid flame maple top. The Vendetta 3.0 and 4.0 sport neck-through construction with the Pearl Evil Eye inlay running the length of the fretboard. The 4.0 version has a beautiful quilted maple top and is available in an all too popular "Tiger Eye" finish.

Mahogany Body
As with most of their instruments, Dean uses a mahogany body for the Vendettas. Mahogany is a common choice for electrics, dependably delivering a warm, full tone with plenty of punch and sustain.

The quilted maple top and back means a guitar that looks amazing, and it also focuses and brightens that mahogany tone a bit.

Neck-Through-Body Construction
The Vendetta 4.0 features neck-through construction, which is typically found on high-end instruments. This means maximized sustain, resonance throughout the whole instrument, further tuning stabilization, and (as with set necks) easier access to the upper frets.

The 25.5-inch scale maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with pearl "Evil Eye" inlays.

Dean Humbucker Pickups
To capture the biting tones of vintage Deans, the company includes two of its "Time Capsule" humbuckers. These pickups should provide more than enough bite for modern styles, along with plenty of low-end and midrange definition. The standard three-way selector allows bridge, neck, or a combination, and volume and tone controls are provided.

Grover Tuners
If you play guitar then you know what this means--solid, dependable tuning from the industry standard.
